      Sam Godfrey was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Godfrey began his career with roles in the drama "Washington Merry-Go-Round" (1932) with Lee Tracy and the crime feature "20,000 Years in Sing Sing" (1933) with Spencer Tracy. Godfrey made film his next project, appearing in the Joan Blondell comedy "Blondie Johnson" (1933), "Frisco Jenny" (1933) and "I Loved a Woman" (1933). He also appeared in "Parole Girl" (1933). Later in his career, Godfrey acted in the Claudette Colbert drama "Private Worlds" (1935).
