Edited many Hollywood movies, the most notable being James Merendino's SLC Punk! (1998). Chose Bollywood over Hollywood; his work with the industry started with Ram Gopal Varma's Bhoot (2003). Made his debut as a director with Ab Tak Chhappan (2004). Won the Filmfare Critics' Award for Best Film for directing Chakde! India (2007). The movie also won the Billies' Award in the entertainment category. Returned to the editing desk with Mira Nair's The Reluctant Fundamentalist (2013). Teaches screenwriting and directing at Mira Nair's Maisha Film Lab.
