Sugar Geise, born Tanya Geise, danced in numerous MGM musicals up to 1940. Originally a child model, she was discovered by choreographer LeRoy Prinz, who helped the 13-year-old break into films dancing beside her pal Betty Grabel. It was Prinz who named her Sugar. In the 1940s, Geise became a well-known nightclub entertainer. She returned briefly to films in the 1960s.
