Taylor is the second oldest of seven children. He is the singer and keyboardist of the band Hanson. He and his older brother, Isaac, started their band, initially known as The Hanson Brothers (later changed to just 'Hanson') in 1992. Isaac was eleven, Taylor nine, and later, a then six year old Zac joined the group. They performed as an a cappella group outside of different clubs in their hometown of Tulsa. On May 6, 1997, the band released their first studio album, Middle of Nowhere, on a major record label, Mercury Records. The first single, "MMMBop", made it to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. May 6 has unofficially been declared "Hanson Day" in the brothers' hometown of Tulsa, in honor of the release of Middle of Nowhere.
