Formerly of the Russian Imperial Army, Theodore Lodi (born Lodijensky) functioned as technical advisor on John Gilbert's The Cossacks (1928). Like several other exiled Russian military officers, Lodi soon found himself playing exactly that in Hollywood films. He later became an extra in sound films.
