Originally pursued being an artist before turning to singing. Joined vocal group Unique Attraction in 1987 while a freshman in high school. Unique Attraction evolved into R&B group Boyz II Men in 1988, taking their name from the New Edition track "Boys to Men." Big break came when Boyz II Men went backstage at a Bell Biv DeVoe concert and sang a capella for singer Michael Bivens, who soon signed them to a production deal and became their manager. In 1991 released multi-platinum debut album Cooleyhighharmony. The group's single "End of the Road" sat atop Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart for 13 weeks in 1992, breaking the record set in 1956 by Elvis Presley's two-sided hit "Don't Be Cruel" and "Hound Dog." Boyz II Men eclipsed their own Hot 100 record in 1995 by holding the top spot for 16 weeks with "One Sweet Day," a duet with Mariah Carey. Released solo mix tape CD Unreleased in 2007 on his own label The Company Entertainment. In 2012, along with fellow Boyz II Men members, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
