Send Help (2026) 93% EDIT “Director Sam Raimi is up to his old tricks, and he cranks up the energy here to create a highly entertaining story that never feels like it's just two people hanging around on a beach” – It's Better in the Dark Feb 1, 2026 Full Review 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026) 92% EDIT “Ralph Fiennes' big dance number alone is worth the price of admission; the rest of the film is a surprisingly low-key and thoughtful take on being caring in the face of destruction (plus some people are skinned alive)” – It's Better in the Dark Jan 20, 2026 Full Review Hamnet (2025) 86% 3/5 EDIT “This is a film that gradually locks everything down, leaving nothing to chance or interpretation. Some subjects require this level of hand-holding: something as universal as grief, not so much” – It's Better in the Dark Jan 13, 2026 Full Review Christy (2025) 67% 3/5 EDIT “Christy starts out flat on the canvas and never gets up” – It's Better in the Dark Jan 8, 2026 Full Review The Housemaid (2025) 74% EDIT “Paul Feig plays this adaptation pretty much note-perfect, slowly ramping up the campy thrills, taking this from a relatively straight thriller to something a lot wilder and smarter” – It's Better in the Dark Dec 25, 2025 Full Review Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025) 66% 3.5/5 EDIT “It's the kind of story that escalates rather than innovates. For once, Pandora doesn't seem like a place where there's something new around every corner. ” – It's Better in the Dark Dec 17, 2025 Full Review Ella McCay (2025) 23% 3/5 EDIT “The whole thing is pitched at a level where it's difficult to know what to focus on, which is possibly a strength as nothing here is worth your full attention” – It's Better in the Dark Dec 14, 2025 Full Review Eternity (2025) 77% EDIT “Despite always taking its ridiculous premise seriously, Eternity has a bubbly sense of humour that manages to breath a little life into love after death” – It's Better in the Dark Dec 4, 2025 Full Review Zootopia 2 (2025) 91% EDIT “It's a surprisingly entertaining adventure of a kind Hollywood doesn't make anywhere often enough” – It's Better in the Dark Nov 26, 2025 Full Review Wicked: For Good (2025) 66% EDIT “Grande and Erivo are pretty much carrying this, and they're easily the strongest elements here (aside from the set design, which remains gorgeous). Both wring every drop of emotion out of characters drawn in broad strokes” – It's Better in the Dark Nov 19, 2025 Full Review The Running Man (2025) 63% 3/5 EDIT “The pace is where Wright really succeeds here; the film moves fast enough to keep you leaning in, rushing past points where the story or setting feel just a little flimsy” – It's Better in the Dark Nov 16, 2025 Full Review Now You See Me: Now You Don't (2025) 60% 3/5 EDIT “The result is a hangout movie best experienced as a chance to watch a group of good-looking airheads run around trading quips while everything around them is either glamourous, fake or a chance to make cops and security guards look silly.” – It's Better in the Dark Nov 16, 2025 Full Review Predator: Badlands (2025) 86% EDIT “A big part of why Predator: Badlands works is that it's running against what you'd expect to get from a Predator film - but it never just ignores the franchise's violent past” – It's Better in the Dark Nov 6, 2025 Full Review Bugonia (2025) 88% EDIT “Stone and Plemons find the humanity in characters that are often little more than debating points, giving this offbeat mix of environmental concern and unhinged conspiracy some much-needed grounding.” – It's Better in the Dark Oct 27, 2025 Full Review Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere (2025) 61% 3/5 EDIT “If this could have somehow just focused solely on how someone puts together a record as memorable as Nebraska, it might have been something special. At least the music - of which there is plenty - is always ready to lift things up” – It's Better in the Dark Oct 26, 2025 Full Review TRON: Ares (2025) 53% 3/5 EDIT “Usually a movie with zero engaging characters would be in trouble; in the world of Tron, the computers have always been the stars.” – It's Better in the Dark Oct 9, 2025 Full Review Play Dirty (2025) 42% 3/5 EDIT “Play Dirty isn't a failure as such, but it's hard not to feel let down seeing so many quality ingredients add up to something that's middling at best.” – It's Better in the Dark Oct 7, 2025 Full Review Ice Road: Vengeance (2025) 15% 2.5/5 EDIT “It’s probably not a good sign when the most interesting moment in an action movie comes when a bunch of bus passengers have to repair their vehicle using parts salvaged from a bunch of wrecks at the bottom of a cliff” – ScreenHub Oct 3, 2025 Full Review One Battle After Another (2025) 94% EDIT “The action, by current standards, is small scale: lots of running, a couple of car chases, a few people get shot. But Anderson wrings every drop of drama and excitement out of these scenes, keeping everything on the move” – It's Better in the Dark Oct 3, 2025 Full Review A Big Bold Beautiful Journey (2025) 37% 3/5 EDIT “The unreality and schmaltz of it all undercuts the emotion, leaving this as little more than an illustrated version of a 100 minute deep and meaningful conversation that isn't quite as enthralling as the two participants think” – It's Better in the Dark Sep 17, 2025 Full Review The Long Walk (2025) 88% EDIT “Powerful, gut-wrenching and relentless, The Long Walk is a straightforward idea taken to a brutally logical conclusion. This walk will stay with you long after the end credits” – It's Better in the Dark Sep 10, 2025 Full Review Not Only Fred Dagg But Also John Clarke (2025) EDIT “It's a constantly engaging look at a creative whirlwind who also seems to have been a top bloke in person” – It's Better in the Dark Sep 4, 2025 Full Review The Conjuring: Last Rites (2025) 58% 3/5 EDIT “It's a long slow build up to an "all hell breaks loose" exorcism ending - featuring evil grannies, an axe wielding farmer, and a holy book that bursts into flames - making it a decent enough amusement park ride through the usual spooky cliches” – It's Better in the Dark Sep 4, 2025 Full Review Honey Don't! (2025) 45% 3/5 EDIT “Honey Don't! is a decent small town noir investing heavily in the idea that a bunch of steamy lesbian sex - or ogling, or even just banter - can make up for its flaws. Better films have skated by on less.” – It's Better in the Dark Aug 26, 2025 Full Review Relay (2024) 82% EDIT “Satisfying more as a step-by-step look at a bunch of smart people trying to outsmart each other than as a high octane thrill-ride, Relay is the kind of espionage drama that'll always find a receptive audience” – It's Better in the Dark Aug 21, 2025 Full Review
