good movie! bon film! funny and smart in some kind of way. drôle et intelligent d'une certaine manière. to all of you: don't bother with the crappy american remake( it's not a new version it's a plain copy but hollywood doesn't always copy well) see the real one. pas besoin de voir la version américaine(c'est pas une version plus récente c'est une mauvaise copie), ça vaut pas la peine, voyez le vrai [and stop with the comments it's in french so it isn't as good as it could be (just learn another language and stop thinking that because you speak english you're better than everybody!!!)]
It irks me that they made a crap film in Hollywood and associated it with this absolute gem of a film. While this is stylish, tremendously funny and obviously European, The American "reboot" is unoriginal and lacking heart. If you like good, funny, and exciting buddy cop movies then this French action film will really get you hooked. I promise you that as the end credits roll on this one you'll be off to find the sequels.
Despite being in French and not having the best script ever this is an entertaining and humor filled action/comedy that has really good action sequences and some crazy and fun ideas that make for a good foreign movie.
French action comedy "Taxi" has a number of enticing set-pieces, such as some great-location shooting in Marseille, as well as Marion Cotillard, but its plot is far too madcap for it to be appreciated. There's something so very peculiar about French films - some are masterpieces, but others fall painfully below the line and this is in the latter category. It feels like it wants to be an American buddy movie and even begins with a cover of "Miserlou" but even the roaring engines of the fast-moving cars cannot save this from painful mediocrity.
very entertaining action flick which doesnt take itself seriously and is filled with great action sequences, fast paced car chases and 2 funny leads who deliver their well scripted dialogue which great chemistry.
The original French version; much sharper and funnier than the US remake. If you can get your head round subtitles, or better still can speak French, this is a must-see. Great action packed yarn, easily worth 5 stars if only for the opening scenes!
A good fun and amusing film concerning a speed freak pizza delivery guy turned taxi driver and an incompetent Marseille cop who form an unlikely alliance in order to catch a gang of German bank robbers. It is a fairly basic buddy movie but has a number of really good laughs along the way. Samy Naceri as the taxi driver is utterly charming and some of the slapstick set pieces are brilliantly executed, especially the shoot out where the cops end up in a shoot out with each other. As a movie, it is a bit light weight but nowhere near as tedious as those awful Hollywood car chase movies and I've certainly gained a new respect for my own Peugeot.
