Audience Reviews for All Night Long

How can anyone resist a movie who's tagline is "Human beings are garbage". Sign me up! Actually this film is not near as disturbing as the 2 others in the trilogy, but having said that, this film is disturbing as fuck. I prefer my nihilistic films to be more about ideas than a piece of junk shock value film, and the ideas in this whole trilogy are simply terrible, but very confrontational. An excellent nasty movie.

Near the end of the first film one of the characters remarks "We're all broken now." The words ring true for everyone we meet throughout the first three films in the series (available as a boxset, although there are a 4 & 5 as yet unreleased in the west). All Night Long - the most thoughtful of the three, about three teenagers united in vengeance after being bonded by a traumatic experience. The final act is pretty weak, but stick with it for the final shot which is American Psycho fantastic. (2) Atrocity - homosexuality, S&M, guilt, misogyny and the inability to connect with a fair amount of splatter and humiliation. Grim, but it lacks overall cohesion although better than the first. (3) The Final Chapter - Fantastic. Far more relentless, grim and horrific than the first two (which is saying something) it involves an incredibly troubled teen and his obsessional and perverse mind.
