There are no critic reviews yet for Jeff Dunham's Very Special Christmas Special. Keep checking Rotten Tomatoes for updates!
Jeff Dunham is back for his Christmas Special. This is my last Dunham review so don't worry...unless he has another video out.
Characters: Still the same puppets we know and love. Achmed isn't as funny as he was in Spark Of Insanity but he still has some excellent bits (...Dashing through the sand, with a bomb strapped to my back, I have a nasty plan, for Christmas in Iraq...). Most of them were hit and miss most of the night. It was kinda sad. 7/10
Plot: same as always just Christmas 10/10
Jokes: Like I said, very hit-and-miss. When they hit they hit it out of the perk but they didn't hit enough. However, having said that, Walter was solid. his jokes were excellent. This time around they made Achmed into a whiny baby. I disliked that move a lot. He was much funnier as a scheming terrorist that was still kinda a wimp. Bubba J. has always been hit-or-miss for me. Peanut and Jose are usually solid but they were lacking in the beginning but they got stronger in the end. 7.5/10
Likableness: Still likable but not as good as their first two. There were plenty of entertaining jokes but more misses than normal. It was still entertaining. 8/10
Final Score: 32.5/40 81% (N)
Jeff My Man!
Jeff:: Its Christmas!
Peanut:: And now I m Hungry!
A mixed bag of comedy but highly enjoyable. Some of the jokes are good but a lot are old and have ben done many times before. It is the puppet characters that really steal the show, but often can generate more laughs with a simple movement of the eyes, as opposed to well timed witty remarks. The Christmas theme is never fully ventured into, it's more a stand up routine that takes place at Christmas rather than focusing on Christmas. As with all stand up it will be down to taste, but also if you can ignore Jeff's throat movements (I couldn't).
