Audience Reviews for Ansatsu (The Assassin)(The Assassination)

this film knocked me out. a little seen masterpiece of the samurai genre, it follows a clever ronin in the tense days after the landing of comodore perry's ships at edo in 1853, and subsequent civil war between the shogun and the emperor. a dark view of japanese history with magnificent b&w cinematography
