Movie Info

Unemployed for three years, Gerard has landed a job in Indonesia. To start off on the right foot with his team leader, Gerard invites him to dinner. Considering his wife's lack of culinary talent, that may not be the brightest idea he ever had. Their neighbor, Alexandre, a PR whiz, is willing to help--as long as Gerard and Colette are prepared to accept changes in their habits and surroundings. After many dramas, mishaps, misunderstandings and general bungling, with frazzled nerves, Gerard and Colette open the door to welcome their dinner guest.

Critic Reviews for L'invité

All Critics (1)

A frivolous comedy of errors made entertaining by its esteemed cast, The Dinner Guest is scrumptious in parts but doesn't quite live up to expectations. Having said that, it is hard to be too critical of any film with this cast.

Audience Reviews for L'invité

Didn't mind this, although I've certainly seem French movies I enjoyed more. All the cast are good in this and there's a few good laughs, but it does drag out a little even though it's not actually all that long, and I couldn't figure out if it was meant to be set in the 70's or if poor old Valerie Lemerciers' character was just that out of fashion! (Not to mention the decor in the flat!). Worth a watch, but more of a DVD movie than one to rush out the cinema and see.
