A very very long film that's perfect for a rainy day or week.

This was on late night & I DVR'd it.Not sure why they have it here as 1 hour & 20 mins, because it was a 3 1/2 hour Mini Series that was absolutely FABULOUS!!! First, gotta mention how gorgeous & elegant a Young Pierce Brosnan was, YUMMY!!! Pierce Brosnan takes on this impossible challenge based on a wager, every obstacle that can happen, does, & they are quite inventive obstacles. The modes of transportation they come up with, in a pinch, are absolutely extraordinary.Along the way he saves a few lives, loses his loyal Man Servant(Eric Idle), & falls in Love with a Princess (Julia Nickolson-Soul)he saves from burning to death in Burma. This is great entertainment about achieving the Impossible Dream, Love, & Loyalty

The description on Flixster is off. This isn't an animated version. It is a three-part miniseries that was originally aired on television in 1989. You might think that watching a mediocre 4 3/4 hours TV movie would get tiresome, but I enjoyed it. It's not great, but I fell asleep to it for the past 6 nights and enjoyed all of it. It's downright stupid at times, and Eric Idle is not cast well. But I like epics, and this one is just light enough to have kept me entertained.

Fun retelling of ATW, with James Pre-Bond as Phineas Fogg. Pierce Brosnan is very good as the lead character, while Eric Idle is good as his long suffering butler.Passepartout, he's no Cantinflas (though noone could ever be I suppose), and Julia Nickson is great as Princess Aouda (but I suppose anyone is after Shirtley Maclaine) The only weak leak in the cast is Peter Ustinov, whose constant mugging in this made me tire of him rather quickly.Their voyage is... well, LONG (it's a 4.5 hour miniseries after all) and there are some stretches of boredom, but once it concluded, I'm glad I watched it. i was entertained.

it is very inspiring, that every stop he made to help people did not make him losing time. So, never think, that if you stop by to help people, you will lose your time. because time is not one thing that you can control, but how you spend it that matter
