Critic Reviews for Hercules
You could do worse... by which I mean you couldn't possibly do worse.
Egad, and it's poorly dubbed too
one of the few male 'jiggle' movies in recent memory, it's all silly to the nth degree and dares to utilize special effects tricks that redefine the word 'tacky.'
Like a really bad Schwarzenegger movie ... starring Lou Ferrigno.
Audience Reviews for Hercules
One of the many (mostly Italian) films made in the wake of Conan the Barbarian (starring the almighty Arnold Schwarzenegger) to cash in on the revived swords & sorcery adventure genre. Lou Ferrigno (who was Arnold's real-life 'enemy' and pot-smoking partner as seen in "Pumping Iron") stars as the Greek half-god who travels to the moon to battle a science-based wizard. Not one of the better B-films of this genre.
★1/2 (out of four) If ever there was someone who looked the part it is Lou Ferrigno as Hercules. Too bad the physical perfection for the role is where the good stuff stops. Princess Cassiopea has been kidnapped! It's up to Hercules to rescue her. In the process he battles live trees, a giant bear and even a dragon that that shoots out a laser beam. It is fun if everyone wants to watch a bad, bad movie and laugh at it. It is so poorly constructed that I would even tell the filmmakers to their face, but I think I'll pass on giving Ferrigno my opinion, just in case he snaps.
