A Canadian video nasty also known as Left for Dead. This was at a time where the CFDC was trying to make more commercial films to compete with the American market. They tried but ultimately it's a typical TV movie with a couple of thrills. The film is mildly interesting because it's loosely based on true events but not enough to warrant a good rating. Why was it banned? Was it the morally ambiguous ending? The censors hate those. Was it the naked dead body? Or was it simply the chicken slaughter house? At any rate, despite its momentary glimpses of sin, the film is a sad bore. (Although, Howard Shore did do the score.) Avoid the censored version known as Drop Dead Dearest.
