This movie just screams the 1980’s. Makes you routing for the Wolverines and makes you want to pee Red, White, and Blue during the whole thing. Makes you mad at some Russian Commies, and makes you wanna go out and yell ‘ Wolverines’ every second of every day. Red Dawn and Rocky 4 won the US the Cold War. Gosh I feel juiced up on America while writing this review.
Russophobia: The Movie
Outlandish and unique premise. Still kind of fun to watch though.
As usual the "Critics" get it wrong. Red Dawn is a cult classic with an A list cast. Its cheesy in every way an 80's film should be.
On one hand, for someone like myself who grew up in the 80's, this is a very entertaining piece of 80's nostalgia & I like it for what it is. On the other hand, don't expect this movie to make any sense because it doesn't. I mean, the Russian/Cuban communist forces come in, solidly defeat all branches of the U.S. military, overthrow the U.S. Gov't but somehow can't figure out how to deal with a group of teenagers with limited resources?? Fun watch if you're into 80's movies that don't make sense - if that makes sense
Not a bad movie if you get past the preposterous premise. Here we have the soviets taking over the strategically important town of calumet colorado, of course nobdy knows how the soviets got this far into america without being detected. The rest of the movie is a bunch of high school teens(or 20 something year old pretending to be teens)struggling under the new regime and trying to fight back.
Clearly demonstrates the importance of having an armed militia via the 2nd Amendment.
Nonsense put pretty enjoyable.
This is one of the best movies of the 80s and just gets better with time. The perfect antidote to todays pathetic PC culture. Guns, horses and killing commies. The smmary execution of the traitorous Daryl is the best scene in the film. A conservative masterpiece
Pretty solid war flick. Next to Road House, this would me Swayze’s 2nd best movie.
