Scarred Reviews

"Scarred" is an intensely powerful film depicting a teenage mother who must resort to prostitution to support herself and her child. The writer/ director, Rose-Marie Turko, has created a no holds barred, gut wrenching story about life in the underbelly of Hollywood, a realm unknown to anyone who isn't experiencing themselves. The main character, Ruby, is a tragic, yet sympathetic figure who must deal with the low lifes, hustlers and weirdos who inhabit the streets while trying to maintain a sense of dignity and morality in her tender young life.A brutally honest film which challenges the audience and also engages them in the real life drama of authentic characterizations, as well as the psychological travails they must endure
