Movie Info

Wrongfully slandered by his peers, Silas Marner (Ben Kingsley) seeks anonymity in another part of England. His new life is no less eventful: First he's burglarized, then he takes in a homeless toddler. As it happens, the little girl is the child of prominent businessman Godfrey Cass (Patrick Ryecart). But because of various social entanglements, Cass finds it convenient to let his daughter stay with Silas. As the child matures, the situation grows inevitably more complicated.
