a sweet satire of the movie industry. leslie howard plays a strait-laced accountant sent in to cut costs at colossal studios, only to discover not everything is reducible to a balance sheet. humphrey bogart, in only his second film role, plays a drunken producer, and joan blondell, stand-in for the studio's diva, is leslie's adorable love interest. includes a hilarious shirley temple spoof

Still brilliant. One of the first ever pastiches of the Hollywood system and the rare chance to see Bogie doing comedy. And he's hilarious. Oh, and Joan Blondell is still one of the sexiest women ever.

The cast makes this one work so well, Leslie Howard, Humphrey Bogart and Joan Blondell are all terrific. Good story, snappy pace and professionally made. Fun and entertaining.

Another truly great Bogart performance, and one that sadly goes overlooked to often. This movie is a real treat. A satirical and humorous look at Hollywood, with very dark undertones, mostly thanks to Bogey's character and performance.

Another largely ignored comedy from the 1930s. Bogart and Howard are simply amazing.

This has to be one of the most underrated comedies ever. Everyone's hilarious in it, and it gives a lot of funny insights into Hollywood at the time. If they ever put it on DVD, I'd be the first to buy it.
