Armin Shimerman, and Marc Alaimo as villains on a space station; might as well be a prequel to Star Trek DS9.

B-movie sci-fi schlock, acting was passable and some of the costumes were pretty decent, overall though pretty messy with an unoriginal plot ripped right out of Rocky.

Surprisingly watchable but way too long for this type of film.

Not a good film, but it's rare to see a movie like this get a decent budget and commit to building out its strange world. It's fun to see such wacky alien designs and practical outfits used. It falls into cliche more often than not, but there are moments of surprising fun to be had.

Written by Danny Bilson and Paul De Meo who wrote the cult classic "Trancers" and also the underrated film version of "The Rocketeer," this corny low-budget Charles Band production is pretty fun. The story involves a future where aliens, robots, and various monster fight in the titular arena to thrill the crowds, but when a human fighter is recruited to participate, the crowds eat it up. The story is essentially a old fashioned boxing picture about a young up-and-comer facing corrupt boxing promoters and fixed fights, but the many monster, alien and robot costumes and make up make for a pretty entertaining film, playing out like an extended Mos Eisley Cantina scene. Claudia Christian and comedian Jack Carter were the only actors in the credits who I recognized, although famed voice actor Frank Welker did various creature voices. Welker is probably best know for voicing Fred on Scooby Doo and many other cartoons ranging from "Super Friends" to "The Smurfs" to "G.I. Joe" to many, many more. Nothing brilliant, but it's another entertaining B-picture from reliable producer Band.

A stupid, stupid, STUPID movie, but a hell of a lot of fun for people like me.

A budget to small for its rather great premise. Cheesy fun but badly dated, the fight scenes are pretty poor but they did the best they could with what was available. Worth a watch if only to laugh
