A interesting true story that's handled in a pedestrian manner.

Audience Reviews for The Inner Circle

An at-times overdramatic, thoroughly depressing yet solid drama concerning the KGB and Stalinist Russia. I always find it a little amusing how when a movie takes place in a foreign country, the actors simply speak English with a foreign accent, but that didn't really take me out of the movie. What did was imagining Hulce's role as Mozart and Quasimodo throughout the first half of the film. In any case, it's pretty good.

I just finished reading the reviews on the Rotten Tomatoes website about the 1992 film THE INNER CIRCLE, which has to be one of the best movies of all time. The "experts" panned the film, and it died here in the US. Are these "experts" insane? This film is the best representation of life in the old USSR under Stalin that I have ever seen. Do yourself a favor and go get this film, if you can find it. As for the "expert" film reviewers...they should have been sent to the GULAG for this one...
