Movie Info

Two Jewish brothers embark on a career as comedy writers, using humor as a way to escape from the pain of their rapidly disintegrating family life. Audience Reviews for Broadway Bound

Why there are no RT reviews of this movie is beyond me! This is a semi-autobiographical look at Neil Simon's beginnings, with his brother, as a comedy writer. A film that could easily have been made as a forgettable comedy is instead a drama of a family that gives a whole new meaning to the words dysfunctional and believable. Performances by Ann Bancroft, Hugh Cronin and Jerry Orbach are impeccable.
