Masquerading as a wild romantic adventure, Calendar Girl is actually a dull, sanctimonious morality tale about the meaning of friendship and manhood in the manner of James Dean's melodramas.

Either Calendar Girl is a blatant attempt to showcase Jason Priestley (of Beverly Hills 90210 fame), or it's an undertaking to make a big-screen copy of the popular 70s sitcom Happy Days.
