Movie Info

A screenwriter aspires to fulfill his life-long dream of making a classic '40s-style film noir. Unfortunately, he doesn't have enough money to fund his project and no one in Hollywood seems interested. In desperation, he goes to a notorious crime lord who agrees to put up the backing, but only on one condition--the filmmaker must cast the gangster's son as the lead. Unfortunately, the kid can't act his way out of a paper bag.

Audience Reviews for Dead Silence

This gripping and exciting thriller turns on a clever premise; a trio of violent psychopaths hold a busload of deaf-mute students hostage in a standoff with the police. The duel between the seasoned hostage negotiator (James Garner) and the hostage takers is superbly crafted. And I like Marlee Matlin's character as a confident teacher of the deaf who's trying to protect and plan to escape with her deaf students away from the psychopaths. The movie is well acted, and the on location photography is acceptable. Highly recommendation!
