Brilliant, best of the Barry town trilogy. Set during the 1994 world cup and a group of unemployed men and there own chipper van business. Deep fried battered nappy anyone??

The team of Colm Meany and Roddy Doyle score again...Not quite The Commitments but funny in its own right....Who would have thought Fish and Chips could be funny.

Stephen Frears' film about the life of a pair of unemployed Irish guys. From my point of view, it is better than other Frears' films about this topic and much measured than, for example, Loach's movies.

Roddy Doyle writing at his best. Will make you question the wisdom of ever buying chips from a van again!

"Winston Churchill, Lawrence of Arabia, Elton John, yuhs can all go fuck yuhsells!"

Chips and football. Football and chips. Christy Moore wrote a song (Joxer) about that same Irish World Cup Experience. A fine point in time. The Pogues and The Dubliners got together to record Jack's Heroes too, come to think of it. Three Lions on a fucking what?
