Star of several John Woo epics and producer of the notoriously gruesome cannibalism yarn Untold Story, Danny Lee Sau-yin delivers this grisly Category III police thriller. The film opens with thief John Yam (Simon Yam tat-wah) and his girlfriend Ann Kwan (Suki Kwan Sau-mei) swiping 170 million dollars from an armored car heist. The Organized Crime Bureau headed by Lee Tin-kin (Lee) is quickly sent out to track down the culprits, but Yam consistently outwits the cops, making them look like fools in the process. When the police finally capture Yam and Kwan, they cannot get them to testify against one another. With the 48-hour deadline for their release nearing, the cops resort to increasingly brutal and illegal methods, including tooth drilling, industrial strength enemas, and for Kwan a condom full of ice.
