Was there really a need for this sequel?

James Belushi as Det. Thomas Dooley.

Relationship with an old police dog bound for retirement.

its a pretty pointless sequel and definatly at least 5 years to late, with a younger belushi and jerry lee we could have had a good franchise here. its a shame they go threw the tired aged cops and dogs route,a poor love interest with no chemistry and a poor villian. other than a couple of ok gags/1 liners from belushi this isnt worth it

Tries to play the "hardass police detective/dog" version of the buddy cop film for serious drama without sacrificing the humor. This works about as well as you might think it does.

A childhood favorite of mine, but there's no doubting how tired some of the jokes get over time.

One of those 90's dog films. In other words good and funny in its own way but kindof over played and an over done concept.

I used to love The K-9 movies when I was a kid.

For all those who were asleep or dead during the release of Turner & Hooch...here's that film's B littler brother. It's harmless enough but about as original as a coffee-stained photocopy.

Oh Jimmy Belushi, what are you doing with your career?.. Fair enough, the guy can only play one character, but the first K-9 movie was a guilty pleasure for me. This is terrible. Jerry Lee looks old, but not as antique and obese as an actor who only became famous because of his brother... Ooh! That's harsh. This is best avoided.

Kind of a milder "Marley and Me" story. Jerry Lee is just getting too old, but Dooley doesn't have the heart to retire his faithful partner.

Liked the first one...

You just knew this had to stink from the start when a man wearing body armour could outrun a german sheperd for about a half mile. Even a fat Belushi beat the mutt. Stinks like a K9 is about as real as it gets.

A Great addition to the series. Still a beuitiful dog.

The worst of the dog/cop movies.

If this was about Belushi and his dog tracking down Islamist terrorists, it might be hilarious
