J O @Jarth_Fader 3 days ago I find the comments about plausibility and sweetness a bit ridiculous. It's a freakin movie. You aren't dating Charlize or Keanu in any world, for any period of time, in any health condition. I think people just get pissed off because they hate the ending. Is it more plausible that some hot guy and hot girl hate each other for 2 hours but then "suddenly" fall in love at the end? For what it is, a movie meant to tug at your heart, make you hope it works out, piss you off some, make you a bit sad, and maybe give you some a range of feelings at the end, I think it was good. For me, I thought the leads absolutely had chemistry. I have no clue what critics saw. They were great in devils advocate and it worked here too. The supporting cast also did a good job. The idea of wanting to be remembered as healthy and vibrant makes sense. I'm way more of an action, superhero, and 80s movie guy. Romance and romcom is not usually my thing at all. See more Miss G @RT65106835 Oct 15, 2025 Why was it so bad...? I lost two long hours of my day, lol. I mean, it felt like a classic waiting to happen all along and it never seemed to start. The character of the female lead was despicable and the whole thing felt implausible. Plus, I never really cared about any of them from beginning to end, and the sickness episode was uncomfortable at best. Even the scenes with the little boy were weird and felt pointless. I want my two hours back!! I would have preferred to watch a modern-day cliché romance comedy; at least we know what we're in for. Those who set the scenes as realistic with a feel of wanting to sell themselves as masterpieces but fail to deliver truly irritate me more than I'd like to admit. I have always wondered why some movies with a simple plot, like Purple Hearts, tug so deeply at the heartstrings and become dear to us, while others just can't. I'm happy to overlook any imperfection in a movie when it succeeds in making me emotionally invested in the protagonists which this one didn't. I'm not American, and I don't particularly know the actors. I hadn't read the reviews before watching the whole thing. So I do think my experience was unbiased. I had to look for the movie reviews after finishing it to make sure I wasn't the only one disappointed. Feels good to know I have "des compagnons d'infortune". They explore interesting themes but a lot of movies have done this better, so I wouldn't particularly recommend this one. But what do I know, some people seem to have spent a good time watching it.
