Good thing Wilson stuck to comedies after this.

A little bit like watching a video game. This film is full of clich├ęs. One of only a few mediocre films that Gene Hackman has ever been in.

3/15/2015: A decent military flick. Some good actors and good action with an ok plot.

Though it has become a very popular film, I was not very interested during some parts of the film. It was okayish. Acting was fine, just too many lulls in the pacing.

Naval pilot is gunned down behind enemy lines in this predictable action pic.

Great war film! All the actor's do a great job with their roles, and the action is very intense! The character development at the beginning is a little off, but when they get into the jet, that's when the movie picks up. (No pun intended)

Behind Enemy Lines is a decent film. It is about a Navy navigator who is shot down over enemy territory and is ruthlessly pursued by a secret police enforcer and the opposing troops. Owen Wilson and Gene Hackman give good performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. John Moore did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the action and drama.

A military styled cat and mouse action thriller. Wilson plays a decent role and Hackman remains loyal to his troops. You can't go wrong if this is your style.

Saw this movie yesterday - for the 100th time - and love it. Among Owen Wilson's best films. Jingoistic? Too patriotic? No. It's a movie...an action movie...and it has action! The movie is based on actual events and that made me "jingoistic." Yeah, Navy.

A cheap looking war thriller whose themes (survival, war genocide) don't mesh with the flashy visual flourishes or the pop song soundtrack.

Not all directorial debut can be artistically great when it's only a first try on making a film to be enjoyable and likable with some entertainment - all under an important criterion. Small media director John Moore hit the big league and successfully met that criterion, which justifies his directorial debut a successful one. What he used to create a nice action war thriller is making it as a little thrill ride that was performed by a nicely-selected cast at their usual while going through an action formula with the war genre as the main root. (B+)

Decent war time flick. Predictable in many parts. Gene Hackman is the definite draw in this one.

Not a good fit for Owen Wilson. He belongs in comedies, and even then he isn't a very good actor in my opinion. Behind Enemy Lines is a generic war film that isn't worth your time. (First and only full viewing - 11/23/2014)

Such a powerful movie.

A decent but yet predictable film. The stunt work is actually pretty good as is some of the long shots taken here. That being said Wilson didn't fit well in the role and Hackman didn't seem as believable as he normally has been in his past roles. Owen Wilson plays a naval aviator shot down over Bosnian territory. Through the movie he's chased down by the resistance. Decent movie but nothing spectacular

Good show. Enough action.

A film that starts out relatively silly and then just gets sillier and sillier until it's quite ridiculous conclusion when there's enough American kick-ass to make John Wayne blush. Duke might have got away with it, but not Owen Wilson, I'm afraid. Stick to your day job, OW - you're funnier at it.

Wilson feels miscasted, but the action scenes and visuals overpower a weak script.
