Movie Info

Prospero Merimée (Jay Benedict) is traveling through Spain when he stops at a local church and meets Carmen (Paz Vega). When his life is threatened by José (Leonardo Sbaraglia), her jealous lover, the curious Merimée learns of their tortured relationship. Years earlier, Carmen was arrested for murder and José charged with taking her to the police station. But José fell for the seductive, married Carmen, and the two soon began a passionate and deadly love affair.

    A captivating adaptation of the classic opera Carmen. The plot isn't completely true to the play. It looks more like a soap opera. But anything with Paz Vega is worth the watch, and it still remains just as entertaining as the original play.
