He learns about life the hard way and from his mistakes he finds that he has become a survivor. Review: Redemption is a good independent movie based on a true story. I was really impressed on how good this story was. It had some depth and it made you think. This is not an action packed movie really no action just a lot of real drama. It starts out a little slow but it starts to pick up and then you really get caught up in this story with all these different types of situations and drama. The editing could have been betta and visually it was OK but I can live wit it especially for being a low budget movie. The acting performances were surprising good even if I really didn't know anyone in the cast but they did a great job. I probably wouldn't recommend anyone to buy it but I think it's something to check out it's a good smart independent movie.

This film just came out on DVD a couple of weeks ago and I am happy to own it now. I first saw it at the ReelWorld film festival in Toronto earlier this year and was taken aback that the film is based on true events from the director's life. The lead actor, Brian White, gives a good performance as Christian - who is struggling to find his path in the city that does not give the truth. I really thought that it was interesting that the romance between Christian and Claire (Tracey Stone) is a biracial one and it doesn't matter at all in the film. It's not an issue. There's another biracial couple in the film as well. I was very happy to see that at least somewhere, albeit on film, some things can exist and it's not a big deal.
