Movie Info

Four teenagers spending their summer together in a beach house in Santiago, Chile, deal with the emotional tribulations of family, young love, and adolescent angst in this independent drama. Daniela (Daniela Ropert) feels emotionally cut off from her family and buffers her feelings of loneliness with drugs and alcohol. Daniela's boyfriend is Sam (Adrian Castilla), who was born in the United States to parents of Chilean descent; his folks are usually away on business, leaving him in the care of their housekeeper Ema (Tamara Acosta), who makes no secret of her infatuation with him. Isabel (Emiliana Araya) comes from a family emotionally crippled by the disappearance of two close relatives who went missing during one of the periodic reigns of terror that were common during Chile's more oppressive regimes. And Mike (Joshua Walker) is the son of a wealthy agricultural exporter and has the ugly demeanor of a spoiled rich kid. With little in the way of adult supervision, the four teens spend their days hanging out and playing with video cameras as they toy with the idea of making a homemade horror movie. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

It's annoying, haphazard, lazy, scattered, skuzzy, unkempt, distracting. Much like the characters it films.

Even annoying people have meaningful stories to tell, and there could just be a pretty potent reason behind all that senseless rebellion.

Metro Times (Detroit, MI)

It's an endurance test that might pass the sniff test in terms of the insufferable lightness of being a teenager, but stinks to high heaven in terms of watchability.

The teens are genuine even if they are not that appealing.
