An excellent telling of the creation of the atom bomb and its use in the Second World War. The scenes filmed from the Allies was well filmed and offered magnificent testimony something akin to Reds only not as boring. I absolutely loved the Japanese filmed scenes as to how rough it was from the Japanese government in attempting to end the war while being held practically hostage by their own military. In the end the nuclear bombs delivered what they promised, a quick end to the war.

narrator is John Hurt, who adds a great grit to the story which is told in a very balanced manner... disturbing movie, especially when you consider that here were 3,000 Americans (of Japanese descent) in the city at the time of the blast... Was it really necessary, or just a case of of, Gee, let's drop this thing and see what happens....

I thought it was very well done. I also thought it was interesting how they mixed in stock footage with the rest of the scenes. They also had a few interesting historical notes that helped put the story into perspective, and the interviews with people on all different sides of the story helped shine some light on a few things.

Very Good film with both sides of the equation on how the atomic bombs events happened. Very Good Film with actual footage. Shows the horrors of war with real accounts.
