Movie Info

A trip down memory lane leads a group of old friends through a bittersweet journey of lost love and missed opportunities in this independent comedy-drama. Valinda (Connie Britton) is a woman in her mid-thirties who has offered to help her parents sell the house they no longer live in. Valinda takes the opportunity to invite over a bunch of her old school chums for an 1980's nostalgia party; the next day, the house is a complete mess, and Valinda and her friends try to sort out the damage and clean things up while nursing hangovers. Valinda's husband Will (Tate Donovan) is a solid and sensible type who gets most of the work done in spite of his aching head. However, Valinda still has a bit of crush on Jack (William Mapother) after two decades, and Jack is definitely interested in her, even though he's married to Zoey (Ione Skye), who is aware that her marriage is in trouble. Corey (David Herman) enjoyed brief fame as a child actor, but feels as if life has passed him by now that he's grown up and working as a male nurse. Mickey (Eric Stoltz) was a major party animal back in the day, and still wanders about in a recreational haze. Katrina (Caitlin Keats) has a successful career as a doctor, but she's been unable to find a relationship that lasts, though not for lack of trying. And Claire (Sarah Clarke) came all the way from Ohio to attend the party in hopes of meeting her former flame and group ringleader Lex; Lex, however, spent the night in jail after a drunk driving arrest. Awesome soundtrack and great story. It reminded me of the Big Chill but it wasn't lame or boring at all so it's immediately better than that movie. It was actually funny as well. Rock on.
