Audience Reviews for Heavy Petting

Oh, the indie quirky comedy genre... How you turn out the most mediocre films sometimes. The dog is great, the human actors leave something to be desired, except Stuart from BBT, but especially Malin Akerman. The film is average in story and plot. It's an indie movie, what did you expect?

There's really nothing serious or important about this movie, but that's okay, because it was really cute. I was unfamiliar with the actors and the whole thing is a bit low-budget, but it works here. I really enjoyed this.

I honestly don't know what has gotten in to me...I've been craving romantic comedies left and right! The sad thing is...I've seen most of the romantic comedies out there...so I resort to Indie Comedies...or Made-For-TV movies...and that's what I got here. I'm thinking that if I actually watch a GOOD romantic comedy...I will be fine...just have to find one I guess. So, I decided to watch the movie heavy petting. The movie is about a guy named Charlie who meets Daphne. Daphne is obsessed with dogs, and when she get a new dog after her old dog dies, Charlie then has to outsmart the dog to get to Daphne, and pretend that he actually likes dogs. Charlie begins to love the dog himself...more than Daphne. When Daphne begins to notice...Charlie may lose them both. I've got one thing to say before I get into the review...I can't get over Malin Akerman always being the "pretty girl" in all of her roles! Ok, so she didn't play the normal *itch she normally plays...but come on! I can't see (other than her body) how she's really that pretty. Brendan Hines on the other hand...hello handsome! The movie was ok, still lacking in the story and developing the romantic side of the story. The movie was more about Charlie and the dog...and to be honest...at the end of the movie, I wondered why Charlie liked Daphne? Bad sign for a romantic comedy.
