CGI fairy dust, dippy tooth puns and a semi-amusing Billy Crystal cameo can't disguise the fact that this sugary distraction is as hollow as a cavity.
My entire family loved this movie. I laughed more than I have in a long time. It's a big relief after being fed Pixar's brand of self-important, overbearing oeuvre such as "Up" and "Wall-E" for years. (Yes, yes, you are animation geniuses.) The Tooth Fairy is just plain fun with great lines and a lot of chemistry between Dwayne Johnson and Stephen Merchant. The Rock has great comedic delivery. It's sweet, but not saccharine (some painful lessons about failing at what you love to do), and funny. Sure there are a lot of painful puns ("You can't take the Tooth.") But there are also funny lines too. I think folks have just lost their sense of humour.
