Fun, silly and terrific comedy. The incomparable David Tennant owns the lead. Formerly played the Doctor in Doctor who and a member of the Royal Theater, I don't think there is a part that this actor cannot pull off.

Awesome Johnny Depp cameo.

Pretty terrible overall. Some of the worst closing lines in the history of cinema: "What's next?" "They make movies in England, don't they?" "Yeah, yeah, I suppose they do." Really?

Mukavan tuore kuvaus Hollywoodin pinnallisuudesta ja kyvystä muokata ihmistä. Amerikkalaisuuden tarkastelu eurooppalaisin silmin on aina kiehtovaa. Jännää on myös nähdä Michael Bambihillin elokuvassa Johnny Depp, Vincent Gallo, Anouk Aimee ja Dr. Cuddy.

I borrowed this DVD out of our city's public library shelves. It was an okay Finnish/French/UK romantic comedy co-production set in Hollyweird, California... aka La La Land. It's sort of a mediocre international homage to director Jim Jarmusch's classic - STRANGER THAN PARADISE. For me, it was a bit over the top quirky and tried a bit too hard to be weird and funny at the same time. The most intriguing parts of the entire movie were the strange cameos by Joe Dallesandro, Julie Delpy, Vicnent Gallo, Anouk Aimee, the Leningrad Cowboys and Johnny Depp himself in an uncredited role. The rocking indie soundtrack was cool too!

A good fish out of water story. Interesting to see David Tennant pre doctor who. if you see this, keep an I out for Johnny Depp.

This off-beat little romantic comedy is a little uneven in spots (the end reconciliation is abrupt and silly) but there are some very charming moments. David Tennant is occasionally hilarious as the hero - equal parts cheerful and inept. There are some genuinely laugh-out-loud funny moments, so it's worth watching as long as you never try to take it too seriously and just let the silly plot twists happen. Cute, sweet, but far from perfect.

Totally underrated movie by a finnish director Mika Kaurismäki. Though this is just a silly comedy its having a true anatomy of love relationship - how it starts and how it ends. Characters are great especially Gallo and Depp. I also have to point out the cameo appearence of Veeti Kallio and Leningrad Cowboys (!)

Gentille petite histoire d'amour en plein deboires Hollywoodien dont le reel interet repose dans les petites apparitions de Johnny Depp reendossant sont maquillage de William Blake dans Dead Man

Im only giving this a star for the fact that Johnny Depp, Vincent Gallo and of course the Leningrad cowboys star in this film! How this was ever made is beyond me...with these legends alone, it should have been good....but was in fact tragic!!!!!!!!!!

One of those comedy-dramas that suffers from not being sure whether it's most interested in being funny or being dramatic, which leads to an awkward unevenness of tone. It has its moments, notably the brilliant cameos from Johnny Depp, and Tennant shows that he could be cute and charming and stare alarmingly long before he entered the TARDIS. The satire on showbiz posturing in LA is enjoyably savage; the target is rather an obvious one, but it is hit with some venom here.
