(wrong poster up above)

Doo-Hyeon is a retired gang boss, taking cooking classes because he dreams of opening his own restaurant. He meets a young and quirky girl (Se-bin), and they have a connection.

Its too bad that this girl and her friend and mentor are indebted to gangsters for $70,000, and she's just a spy sent by Doo-Hyeon's old buddies, who are all grappling for power after the big boss dies.

Combining character development with tense action set pieces, Hindsight isn't your usual gangster movie. It has themes of human connection and differences in age generations. The acting and chemistry with the two leads sells the film, for an original and thoughtful crime thriller with a murky look at love and loyalty.

Decent at least, but overall interesting. Pacing is a bit slow, and the characters are confusing. Decent thrills, twists, and storytelling. I've noticed that the Movie Info and Cast information on this movie is completely wrong though.

Very whacked out collision between two couples from very different social circles. The hope of '
buying' and adoption is what brings them together greed, desire, selfishness are in total control from there. The small cast does a great job, especially Jeffrey Donovan who is a very compelling actor. Great ride

The graphic matches the movie of this title that I have seen but the summary doesn't seem to match the title.

Hot and heavy and violent sex occurs early on in the film between a couple who are attempting to find a family for a child that will be born soon. Having lived through hard times, they are hoping to strike it rich and be able to do what they haven't been able to do. Later on, it turns out that this was an elaborate scheme to get money fraudulently with no intention of giving the child to a family. The woman is seen, early on in the film, hitchhiking and then being picked up by a much older man (we later see her with him, narrating to him and us what has happened to her and her boyfriend and their scheme to get rich for providing a baby to a couple).

We eventually see that not only is the relationship between the young couple very strained but also so is the relationship of the prospective parents. The plan goes wrong and ultimately both the husband and the boyfriend die whereas the young woman and her baby and the wife survive their battle against each other. 10/10.

I wish the movie kept its tone throughout instead attempting to lighten up occasional mood here and there. That lost focus on the movie and how intense it should have been.

Get past the amateur opening and there's a pretty suspenseful thriller here. It's not going to wow anyone but it was enjoyable. Jeffrey Donovan was great as usual.

Song Kang-ho is the good actor in Korea.

Doo-heon is a former gangster who wants a quiet retirement running his own restuarant. He meets pretty young Se-bin on a cooking course, and the two become friends, unaware that she is a former sniper champ who has been tasked with the job of watching him by a rival gang. When Doo-heon's boss dies and Se-bin is asked to take him out, loyalties are questioned. This Korean thriller boasts the excellent Song Kang-ho (The Host) in the lead, but lacks enough thrills to satisfy. The relationship between the couple takes centre stage but is too drawn out to really engage.

The story was alright but could have been a lot better.

It is better than you would expect from a low-budget thriller. The characters are designed as one dimensional stereotypes, but they are used to good effect. It allows the film to use each of them as a devils advocate for discussing their points of view on a bizarre transaction gone awry.

A pregnant white trash couple decides to sell the expecting baby to another couple with fertility problems (the man is a lawyer, the missus a doctor). Of course they try to pull a con, but couldn't expect that the rich, educated 'victims' are far worse pychopaths than themselves.
Good plot, lame direction.

On IFC's list of must-see movies for Summer 2009. For the love of cod and His son haddock, why? Boring, cliched, and no, we've NEVER seen that plot twist before. In fact, we haven't seen it this summer, even!
