Forgoing nostalgia to play shamelessly to the Radio Disney generation, the upgrade is a gawky misfire, criminally monotonous from start to finish...the chemistry between the two leads seems more incestuous than romantic.

Audience Reviews for Ice Castles (2010)

A good enough remake of the original 1978 movie. No surprises, or anticipations to expect if you had seen the original! However, the skating scenes were way better and more exciting, and the updated musical score was a good enhancement. If you havent seen the original flick, you most likely will be prone to give this a higher rating, as the predictability of the story will not be a factor to your overall enjoyment!

Okay movie about an ice skater. I haven't seen the original, so I have no bias against this version. One thing I really disliked was the soundtrack. Aside from that, it was okay. Nothing amazing, and found my attention wandering towards the end, though the skating scenes were good.

It's OK. It definitely did not have the same emotion as the first one. Skating scenes are good, acting is just OK, plot is a little weak.
