...while there are some questionable narrative choices, certain contrived plot twists, and moments where plausibility falters, it stands out for its thematic ambition and its attempt to offer more than just adrenaline. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

David H @dave999dave 16h Most revenge action movies involve the protagonist being revealed as formerly a special forces soldier who expertly kills the bad people and good triumphs over evil. This movie takes a different tack. It's not about the guy killing the enemy, though there is some of that. It focuses instead on the incoherent grief and rage the protagonist descends into when his child is critically injured. And from one point of view it's his fault. How could you possibly respond to that? The film touches upon corruption, violence, respect, defiance, mercy, empathy humility, masculinity, forgiveness, judgment, powerlessness, the common good vs personal safety, etc etc etc. I loved this film. When it was over my first thought was I need to hug my kids. See more Mack K @KandiCare May 3 I’m surprised at all the bad reviews, I loved this movie. I think viewers want a Clint Eastwood style Unforgiven revenge ending, and its advertised as a Taken style movie so expectations were not set propertly. I thought the casting was perfect, dialogue was perfect, acting was perfect, nearly perfect all around except for one thing - there was just one too many bad decisions by the main character. I was thinking about how great the movie was and hoped the main character would not make one more bad decision, but then it came, otherwise I would give this 5 stars. It’s a dual-language film, so subtitles are essential, and you’ll need to pay close attention to fully follow the story. The film explores themes of gang violence with a grounded, often heavy tone. At its core, the emotional weight comes from the loss of a child—a grief that the film portrays with sincerity, even if it doesn’t always land as strongly as it could. The ending, while impactful in intention, could have been executed more effectively. Still, for a foreign film, it offers enough substance to make it worth watching. I’d recommend it—especially for viewers open to international cinema. This was both, but to a lesser degree. A good effort that misses the mark for script/screenplay issues. See more Daniel W @RT68280922 Apr 24 Trash, boring, poor acting !
