A Blackadder quote sums up the film perfectly: "It started badly, it tailed off a little in the middle and the less said about the end the better, but apart from that it was excellent."

Simply put, The Naked Gun 4: A Space Travesty. It's certainly what this movie feels like, with humor that's just classic Leslie Nielsen who's undoubtably one of the many highlights of this zany space satire.

Could and should have been much better.

After the success of Airplane and The Naked Gun Leslie Nielsen was set to play in several films attempting to copy that stile of humor. This is probably the worst of all of them. Leslie is a US Marshall who is tricked into replacing the president Clinton with a clone, then must work to fix his mistake. The plot involved traveling to a secret moon base as well as to France. Only view if you are a Leslie Nielsen completist.

Yet another dud, this later day spoof has all the familiar ingredients:: poor slapstick, lazy wordplay with no wit at all, and references dumped all over, regardless of relevance. Furthermore, despite the title, the plot has little to do with 2001, instead, the plot is a retread of part Naked Gun, part cheap B Movie (though, in the only positive point, the prosthetics on the creatures are fairly good):

How did this abomination ever came to fruition? Everything from the ground level up is rotten... Leslie Nielson shouldn't be associated with this.

Definitely in TOP 5 of the worst movies I have ever, ever seen.

When the President of the United States (Damien Masson) is kidnapped by aliens and replaced with a clone, the police call on Marshal 'Dick' Dix (Leslie Nielsen) of the International Security Force.

With the fate of the world in his hands, Dix sets off on a star trek with sexy Officer Menage (Ophelie Winter) by his side and no clue how he is going to rescue the President, save the Earth from the scum of the universe and stop an attack of the clones before the galaxy erupts in an all out star wars!!!

also stars Alexandra Kamp-Groenveld, Verona Feldbusch, Peter Egan, Natalie Gray, Charles Dennis and Jeffrey Wiseman.

directed by Allan A. Goldstein.

A parody of 2001: A Space Odyssey in name only, this movie about a Bill Clinton clone is truly a travesty. But, maybe, if you have a juvenile sense of humor, then just maybe, you might get a laugh or two out of this movie.

A real travesty this is. The editing is awful and so are the special effects and makeup, but this is the kind of film that is special because of its amusing laughes.

37/100 D+

The movie ends with a cavalcade of farts. Enough said there.

"2001 - A Space Travesty" is mildly entertaining while it lasts and if you have absolutely nothing to do for 90 minutes and feel like a cheap laugh (with as little brains as possible) this is the movie for you. Otherwise it's a travesty indeed.

The stigma of being 'so bad it is funny' does not apply to this. It is just so downright bad, it is not worth anybody's time.

I thought this was a funny film and hey it's Leslie Nielsen! Another funny role for him. Also this movie does have a lot of sexual humor, but still hilarious to watch. This film is definetly funny! 10 out of 10.

Typical Leslie Neilsen

Ok Leslie Nielsen now you're just embarrassing yourself, please stop.

There was too much...silliness I guess would be the word for it. It still had some good Leslie Nielsen charm but wasn't drafted together that well.

Leslie Nielsen. What else needs to be said. Funny and enjoyable movie. To bad they don't make them like that anymore.

Always liked alot of films Nielsen has done, but this one has to be one of the worst comedies I have seen.
