Movie Info

This silent melodrama is set in the Windy City in the midst of the Flapper Era and centers upon a devoted husband who does his best to support his murderous wife. The wife must stand trial for killing her lover. It's a well-publicized trial and she seems to thrive on the scandal. Soon she becomes addicted to it and tries to get in the papers every chance she gets. Unfortunately, her husband gets disgusted by her obsession and gives her the boot.

It's actually a fairly unique mixture of comedy and drama, which -- aside from specialty items like Charlie Chaplin's The Kid -- was little seen at the time.
