The film contains relatively little footage of Romano performing on stage. What it offers instead is a surprisingly unvarnished look at the machinery of show business.

Ray Romano makes a quick comedy tour and an intern films it. But much of the onstage material is recycled, and the down-time banter is more irritating than entertaining.

Romano and Caltabiano mostly watch TV and squabble about whose fault it is they're running a few minutes late.

Nothing of real import transpires in 95 Miles to Go, which at times comes close to resembling a glorified home movie.

If you've had a hole in your heart since Everybody Loves Raymond ended, Tom Caltabiano's low-key documentary about star Ray Romano ought to fill the gap nicely.

You've seen him be funny on TV for nothing, but you'll have to shell out $10.75 to see Ray Romano unwrap a Subway sandwich.

There's nothing here that will make anyone stop loving Raymond, but nothing to convert newbies either.

The mangy joke in the defiantly homemade documentary 95 Miles to Go is that Ray Romano on a business trip is no different from any other schmo, minus the autograph signing.

What you see is what you get. Ray, with all his neuroses in evidence, doesn't have a problem sharing his insecurities and he comes across as a genuinely nice guy, with more charm than angst.

There's very little that Romano does in this behind-the-scenes feature by first-timer Tom Caltabiano that isn't stupefyingly dull. It's no crime for a comedian to be a dud offstage; releasing a movie to prove this isn't the wisest career move.
