Horror fan 4 @Horrorfan4life Feb 27 What a tremendous story about a small group of soldiers who fight in many battles during world war 2. Marvin, Carradine, Hamill,Ward and Diccico are all amazing. The different battle scenes were filmed brilliantly. D-day was my favorite part. I absolutely recommend you watch this movie. See more Blu B @RT43513976 11/16/2024 A Classic War Flick. It's amazing how this touches pretty much every major event in WWII Europe while never feeling cheap. It's got great production value all around and the direction is really good too. The battle scenes are all very unique and memorable as well. They can be stealthy, suspensful, or large battles. It's basically a cliff notes version of WWII in Europe. Where this does fall short a bit is while the acting is really good none of the characters are given that much depth individually. The Four soldiers serving under Marvin aren't the most memorable thing. While as a unit there great and to it's credit I think overall that's what this is going for, individually there very forgettable. When it does attempt to focus on individual characters it can be a bit forgettable. The music is good but also not the catchiest thing on it's own. It's edited well but it can have a anthology feel it a bit as this is much more event driven rather than character driven. Everything else is well done though and a big testament to the direction of Fueller. If the battles hadn't been as varied this would've fallen apart because of the characters also not being the strongest. Anyone who is a fan of the director, any actors in this, or war flicks will like this. See more R H @RT26903518 07/16/2023 Boring with minimal character development and almost no emotional content, or any real message or comment about either the characters' experience or the war in general, except occasionally (including the end.) Puts aside conventional story structure perhaps in order to reflect the actual locations and deployments of the 1st division (though the characters and specific events are fictionalized, as far as I know), resulting in just a sequence of events that have little connection to each other.
