Audience Reviews for A Dangerous Man: Lawrence After Arabia
A bevy of great performances and a fascinating choice of plot doesn't quite elevate this tv movie above its competitors. The script is loosely focused and serves mainly to introduce us to as many facts we didn't know about Lawrence. The plot threads become looser and looser as time goes on, leaving one to wonder why the film ends as it does. The saving grace is the performances along with the character analysis that attempts to comprehend the man known as Lawrence of Arabia. It is undoubtedly a more accurate portrayal than the epic film, but while that film's Lawrence was more fascinating this one feels more real. And he's still a walking contradiction.
This is as good as a made for TV sequel to the David Lean classic is going to get. Lacks the drama of the original, but has the brains and Fiennes is excellent.
