Suzanne Pleshette is a slut! She can't stop having sex with men. Even though she marries Bradford Dillman, she can't stop herself from sleeping with Ben Gazzara and all hell breaks lose. So much hell that even though she doesn't sleep with Peter Graves, everyone thinks she does and she loses everything. I love melodrama, but there's very little to this adaptation of John O'Hara's novel. It wants to be oh so very adult, but it has to skirt around the material so much that it just ends up seeming coy and silly. Gazzara really goes for broke though ... there's that.
