Movie Info

Cyrano De Bergerac meets Cinderella. Over-worked, harried and terrified of being put back in foster care, 17 year old Katie (Lucy Hale) does her stepmother and step-siblings' bidding without complaining. Vocally gifted, Katie feels particularly upset when forced to lay down singing tracks so that her untalented stepsister, Bev Van Ravensway, can hopefully win a recording contract from Massive Records - who's company President, Harvey Morgan, is scouting for new spectacular talent at a talent showcase for the Performing Arts Department at a prestigious private school.

If you aren't a tween girl, this really isn't going to catch you.

It's only real point of view is that the best things you can aspire to in life are to be "hot," to land a cute boy, and to become a famous pop star.

Audience Reviews for A Cinderella Story: Once Upon A Song

This is another great addition to the series of recent Cinderella movie adaptations. Once again another adorable couple with a happily ever after ending.

Haha it's kindof a terrible movie and it's clearly for tween-y girls but I can't help it - I like Lucy Hale, and I think it was overall a cute movie. And damn those songs are generic poppy but now they're stuck in my head!! Glad Lucy Hale can sing! If I had to be completely objective, I would say this is more a 2 star movie, but I illogically think it was adorable so it bumped it up to 3 stars.

My first thought was: Yikes, another one of those movies! After watching the movie, I'd have to admit that it was insanely charming, and that it was just as good as any of its predecessors. I absolutely loved the upbeat music in this one, despite my hatred for apparent pre-recorded music.
