I don't know what kids this movie thinks it's for, but they're going to be screwed up.

The film manages to be emotive, but it has a weak script, cast and aesthetic. [Full Review in Spanish]

Some kids may find the whole affair traumatic, particularly when the poor pooch finds herself dehydrated and chained to a corpse in the wilderness

The dog star who plays Bella is irresistible , a good thing since the script she's been handed isn't worthy of her canine charm. Kids ought to like it though.

I'm easily manipulated by kids and animals in movies... I think they did some parts of the movie very well for being a cheap movie that it is.

This movie is blunt as hell -- but it's still effective.

...without the nauseating political correctness and the narration, I would have rated it higher.

Dog lovers and kids might be able to look past "A Dog's Way Home's" various shortcomings, but altogether, this is just a decent idea that could have used some more work.

Cameron's tale grossly oversimplifies complex issues... to the point that it reduces much of the film's social justice message to meme-ready, empty-headed pap.

A Dog's Way Home isn't what you'd call great cinema. But it's definitely good. And Bella is a good dog because all dogs are good dogs.

So long as the film keeps its focus on Bella and the animals she encounters...the picture is engaging...Unfortunately, there are on-screen human beings...too, and they're a terribly pallid lot.

Don't be surprised if you just can't resist the transparent attempts to tug on your heartstrings, despite the fact that this is a flick which telegraphs it punches.

A Dog's Way Home is weird because on one hand it fits the genre to a T, but on the other it's one ridiculous scene after another where absolutely nothing makes sense.

A Dog's Way Home caters to kids instead of challenging them, especially near the end.

When the story lags, these are the flaws that pester, and even the cute factor of "A Dog's Way Home" can't obscure its narrative weaknesses.

The plot is harebrained, but once it gets to the dog's-eye-view of a perilous journey home, it's quality comfort food.
