The A-Team is . . . well, not so bad... it achieves exactly what it sets out to do.

A loose, assured, streamlined actioner with little else on its mind than showing the audience a great time.

No brain power required - enjoy the ride!

Other than last year's Star Trek and perhaps The Fugitive from '93, I'm hard-pressed to think of a TV-to-film translation that steps as assuredly or reinvents itself as skillfully.

At least The A-Team is conscious of how daft it is. It doesn't try to be anything except fast, noisy, mindless Friday-night fun, and it accomplishes that mission with relish.

Based on its own merits, The A-Team is a sweet little sugar cube of outrageous fun and almost unparalleled silliness. We may not have asked for it, but I'm thankful we've got it.
August 3, 2010
Joe Carnahan's movie is loud and vulgar and disorienting, but also an exhilarating kind of fun.
August 3, 2010
Noisy, overblown, lacking substance, but still likeable.
August 2, 2010
Overall this is a muscle-bound, testosterone-fuelled, wise-cracking, explosion of a movie. Brilliant.

It is not awful just very, very ordinary.

An energetic escape from Development Hell: suitably OTT, often fun and always loud.
