This will break your heart.

This was such a touching documentary, probably the best I have ever seen. It certainly leaves you thinking about these young girls long after you have watched it.

Absolutely informative documentary... does show how the "other side of the world lives"... Count your blessings for what you have, and truly, God Bless the Doctors who donate their time and skills to help and heal those less fortunate.

Moving and informative. Not outstanding in cinematography or presentation, but important in sharing facts about a tragedy that needs attention so more can be helped and cured. What is being done by the doctors at the Fistula Hospital in Addis Abba is truly beautiful.

As with most documentaries dealing with such complex issues, however, there is MUCH more to be said about the cure. Getting pregnant women to hospitals is not the only solution. Many of these women would have delivered just fine at home with the assistance of competent midwives--IF they had actually been WOMEN instead of underdeveloped GIRLS.

Hopefully this information will also spawn education efforts that will bring about changes in how young daughters are "married off" in such cultures as well as addressing nutritional needs of children. As this documentary shows, the girls who have been blessed with a second chance because of this hospital may well play a large role in the hope for future generations.

We walk with these young Ethiopian women as they travel far from the homes they have been both abused and treated as outcasts after their young bodies are damaged after difficult childbirths. These young women all in their teens are considered "damaged" and shunned by their villages and treated as outcasts. They travel to the one hospital that offers them hope. The director's focus is on the women and her camera's eye is just as remarkable on these desperate womens faces as it is on the views of Ethiopia. Highly recommended.

Heartbreaking yet hopeful. One never realizes how lucky they are until they see what others go through... and this film really shows what it's like for these women. Congrats to those that run the hospitals and donate their time and energy into such a great purpose.

A heart opening documentary that illuminates the victimizing of a very private and personal struggle within the ethiopian woman and her world. The chain of circumstances in a rural and denied part of earth will hopefully one day become more than a theme for independent films.

I had never heard of the problem presented in this documentary and now I will never forget it. Wonderfully done, it presents the problem, the challenging cure and the determination these women have to receive the treatment. One little 14 year old girl will pull at your heart strings.

A wonderful, moving and inspiring movie. If you ever feel sorry for yourself for whatever reason, watch this. I went directly to the Fistula Hospital website and made a donation after watching. I will continue to support their efforts and spread the word about this problem (and movie) whenever possible!

wow. I had no idea that this was a problem, and in such large numbers. Makes me very thankful to live here. This is something that hardly anyone knows about but everyone should become aware of.

Beautiful and heart-wrenching. The only complaint I have about this film is that it classifies childbirth as in a hospital with a doctor, or unassisted and dangerous. There are MANY midwives in African communities helping to make women safer, and in many cases increasing the number of trained midwives available in villages is a much more reasonable solution and goal-- a solution not even mentioned in the film.

A heartbreaking story, but still there's hope in the end

There is no doubt that these women will bring a tear to your eye, and the sad thing is, "Beautiful" could be cinematic gold with a change in pace and direction.

This is a documentary about a physically and emotionally debilitating condition many women are suffering with in Ethopia after they give birth. The story is beautifully told, it pulls you right in, but more importantly it's a story that needs to be told.

A fantastic documentary that exposes the heartbreaking consequences of fistula. If you are fortunate enough to live in an area were this film is playing, make a point of seeing it.
